Gunung Sinabung yang kini dinyatakan meletus mencatat sejarah baru. Gunung yang pernah meletus sebelumnya sekitar 410 tahun yang lalu kembali meletus. Gunung yang terletak di Kabupaten Karo, Sumatera Utara (Sumut) ini sebelumnya tidak menunjukkan tanda-tanda aktif. Namun gunung sinabung ini meletus kembali pada hari sabtu tanggal 28 Agustus 2010.
